Graduation & Promotion Requirements
Promotion & Retention (Grades 9–12)
To support continuous progress from grade 9 through grade 12, high schools follow Rock Hill Schools Policy IKE and Administrative Rule IKE-R (Promotion and Retention). The requirements below show the minimum credits needed to move to the next grade classification.
Important: Policy IKE and/or IKE-R may be revised. If requirements change, updates may apply immediately. Families will be notified of any changes.
Promotion to Grade 10
Minimum total credits: 4
- English 1 (1 credit)
- Math (1 credit)
- Two additional credits (2)
Promotion to Grade 11
Minimum total credits: 10
- English 1 and English 2 (2)
- Math (2)
- Science (1)
- Social Studies (1)
- Additional credits (4)
Promotion to Grade 12
Minimum total credits: 16
- English 1, 2, and 3 (3)
- Math (3)
- Science (2)
- Social Studies (2)
- Additional credits (6)
