About South Pointe High School

Living the South Pointe Way!

Located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, South Pointe High School opened in 2005 as the district’s third high school. The school began with ninth and tenth grades, adding new classes each year until grades nine through twelve were fully established. South Pointe’s first graduating class was in 2008. Today, the school serves a diverse student population of approximately 1,400 students and has been designated as a STEAM school since the 2016–2017 school year, integrating science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics across all areas of learning.

The school’s programs are strengthened by its participation in the High Schools That Work (HSTW) network, Project Lead the Way (PLTW), and its partnership with Winthrop University as a Professional Development School (PDS). South Pointe also offers rigorous academic opportunities through International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), and dual-credit college courses.
